Evaluation of a localized area.

At Oaks Oral Surgery & Periodontics, a localized periodontal evaluation focuses on a single site of concern — a receding gum, a deep pocket, a failing implant, or a localized soft-tissue change — and produces a clear plan for next steps.

What is evaluation of a localized area?

A localized periodontal evaluation is a focused assessment of one specific site rather than a full-mouth review. It typically includes a targeted exam, probing of the area, a tooth- or implant-specific radiograph or CBCT scan when needed, and a written recommendation that may range from observation to surgical intervention.

When a focused evaluation is the right starting point

Many patients are referred for a single concern — a tooth with persistent inflammation, a site of recession, a peri-implant problem, or a localized lesion. A focused evaluation answers the question quickly without committing you to a comprehensive workup, while still leaving room to expand the assessment if findings warrant.

What we evaluate

Targeted probing depths around the site, attachment level and recession measurements, mobility, soft-tissue character, and a tooth- or implant-specific radiograph or 3D CBCT scan when needed. We coordinate with your referring dentist throughout.
