Assistant Professor of Periodontology and Implantology at USC School of Dentistry with a clinical focus on dental implantology.
Dr. Bak is a board-certified periodontist who completed specialty training in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University of Southern California (USC). He also holds a doctorate in Bone Biology from Florida State University — the science of how bone heals, regenerates, and integrates with implants underpins every surgical decision he makes. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, a distinction awarded to dental professionals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing the science and clinical practice of implant dentistry.
With over 20 years of clinical experience in dental implants, bone grafting, and tissue regeneration, Dr. Bak currently serves as Director of the Implant Master Program at USC and remains an active faculty member. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is frequently invited to speak at national and international dental conferences.
His treatment philosophy is conservative-first: preserve what can be saved, regenerate what has been lost, and intervene surgically only when the long-term outcome is clearly better than the alternatives.
