What is full-mouth implants (all-on-x)?

All-on-X (including All-on-4 and All-on-6) is a full-arch dental reconstruction in which a fixed prosthesis of 10 to 14 teeth is supported by four to six titanium implants placed in a single arch. For most patients the implants are placed and a fixed temporary arch attached the same day, with a final arch delivered 3–4 months later after the implants have integrated. The result is non-removable and brushed like natural teeth.

What All-on-X really means

It’s a fixed arch of teeth — typically 10 to 14 — supported by four (All-on-4) or six (All-on-6) titanium implants. The arch is screwed to the implants and stays in your mouth permanently. You brush and floss it like natural teeth. It does not come out at night.

For many patients, this is life-changing. People who haven’t been able to eat steak or apples in years go back to eating whatever they want. People who were embarrassed to smile do so freely. The transformation is functional and emotional.

Who is a candidate

Patients who have lost most or all of their teeth in one or both jaws, or who have failing teeth that can’t reasonably be saved. Patients tired of removable dentures that move, fall out, or limit what they can eat. The procedure works whether you have your own teeth that need to come out, or you’re already in dentures.

Advanced solutions for severe bone loss

For patients with significant bone loss, our team also has extensive experience utilizing advanced solutions such as zygomatic and pterygoid implants, which can often eliminate the need for more invasive grafting procedures, sinus lifts, and prolonged treatment timelines.

How the day goes

Comprehensive planning begins weeks before surgery — 3D imaging, digital impressions, and design of your new teeth so we know exactly where to place the implants.

On the day of surgery: any remaining teeth are extracted, four to six implants are placed at carefully-planned angles to maximize bone contact, and a fixed temporary arch is attached the same day. You leave the office with teeth that look and function. Surgery is performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia in our surgical suite.

The temporary arch stays in for 3–4 months while the implants fully integrate. We then deliver your final, more refined arch designed for long-term function and aesthetics.

Recovery

Most patients return to work in 5–7 days. A liquid then soft diet for 6–8 weeks while the implants integrate. Discomfort is well-controlled with prescribed medication and is typically less than patients expect — replacing teeth that were already painful is a relief in itself.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I really get teeth in one day?

Yes — the temporary arch is attached the day of surgery for most patients. The final, longer-lasting arch is delivered 3–4 months later, after the implants have integrated.

Will the new teeth feel like real teeth?

Better than dentures, in every dimension. They don’t move, they don’t cover the roof of your mouth, and you can eat hard foods. They don’t replicate the proprioception of natural teeth, but most patients describe the difference as life-changing.

How much does it cost?

It varies based on case complexity, materials, and whether one or both arches are treated. We provide a detailed written estimate at consultation. Many patients use a combination of insurance, third-party financing, and our in-house plans.
